This is just a reading list concerning Russian Formalism from Oxford. The Russian Formalists did a lot of work on the meaning of rhythm in poetry. Again, something I'm interested in for translation. Korean poetic rhythms are very different from English rhythms (as best I can tell).

Semiotics is the study of symbol making, how we assign meaning to things. This site has a introduction to the topic.
